Now, my question says it all.

Many of you said there is lack of evidence to proof a God. So why do some of you consult a psychi or check your zodiac signs?! There is no evidence with them also??
Also, many of you even check with the Feng Shui for jobs, love, and finance!! There is no evidence!! So why do you check it?

Though even if I did, it wouldn’t necessarily mean I’m a hypocrite. Atheism is a lack of belief in god(s). It doesn’t necessarily entail skepticism towards all mystic/supernatural claims.

    I’ll bet you anything that more Christians than atheists consult psychics, Tarot cards, and Astrology. Both in higher numbers, and a much higher percentage of people. Belief in a supernatural being, such as God, illustrates a predisposition to believing in anything supernatural. Non-belief in a supernatural being, such as God, shows a person more inclined to NOT believe in things supernatural.

    As for psychics, they just tap forces that are natural and scientific. If they talk to the dead, then that’s fine, a little hypocritical mind, given most people don’t talk to their neighbor these days. And who’s to say these so called psychics are not talking to a murderer, rapist, pedophiles, terrorist anyway? They all crazy people.

    Cold calling we call it down here on earth. Perhaps these psychics and mediums like being used by the dead, I don’t know?

    I doubt you will get to the heart of god by talking to some dead nut anyway!

    I don’t put any more faith in the things you listed than I do in gods, but to answer your question: Just as “theist” doesn’t necessarily mean “Christian”, “atheist” doesn’t necessarily mean “skeptic.” There are plenty of people who don’t believe in gods, but haven’t come to that conclusion through rational reasoning. And even if they have, that does not mean they have applied the same rational thought to other areas of belief.

    Astrology is fun, I’m not atheist, and astrology doesn’t predict the future, but it’s interesting.
    Also: you don’t really “check” feng shui like you would your horoscope. Feng shui is simply the Chinese art of object placement.
